15 minutes of fame

I was looking through some folders on the laptop looking for our well used change of address list and came across the scanned copy of the Spinny's Living in the Gulf mag (it's a giveaway mag from a supermarket in Dubai).

Check it out...

House for sale

Check out our place on the web ...

The excitement was fever pitch this morning when the kids woke up (at a very civilised 6am I must say) to their Santa sacks hanging on their bed heads. Bikinis, boardies, books and other stocking paraphenalia later we headed downstairs for the major onslaught on the Christmas tree packages. Then after our traditional Christmas breakfast of eggs benedict we piled into the car and headed over to the Knights (Ange, Zane and Liams) where we exchanged gifts and where Aunty Ange trumped with one of the favourite presents this year ... a skateboard for each of the kids. We knew Soph was impressed when she let an awe inspired 'awesome' slip out before she could stop it!  We then moved on to the Knights senior, where we enjoyed a feast of traditional Christmas fare along with loads of prawns and bugs, followed by a double helping of pudding each.  The kids all played in the pool in between skateboarding around the decks and all in all a great time was had. Damage control to the body starts tomorrow.

Our new diggs

Amazing what you can do when you set your mind to something.  I was reading the local rag on the train going into work last Wednesday.  I saw a house which looked nice, it had an open home the next night which we rocked on up to for a nosey.  That's when the trouble started, it was fantastic, everything we (I) had wanted, walkin robe, laundry chute, sunken lounge, painted garage floor (yes I know little things!!), pool, pool house, and the list goes on!  Anyway, we checked out the next open home on the Saturday and that same afternoon we made a offer.  The vendors said 'thanks but no thanks' as they were going to auction the following Saturday.  A very very long week went by...  we rocked up the the auction, got our little yellow bidding paddle.  Amazing how that little piece of yellow plastic can give you the shits and get you into so much debt!  There was a little dig fight between some bidders - when they had sorted themselves out we threw our bid in - very very scarey - after a couple of bids it was ours!  People we congratulating us, the neighbours introduced themselves and we settled down for coffee (and beer) with the (PREVIOUS) owners for a chat.  All good stuff, now we need to sell our place and our investment property.  See you in 60 days (settlement) for a swim!!  Cheers
